Let Them Eat Wood (If It’s Turned Into Edible Starch)

Wood, bushes, grasses — they don’t need special attention, and in nature, there’s more than 100 times more of this nonfood biomass than the starch we currently grow as food. What if we could convert the cellulose in this plentiful biomass to edible starch, which makes up 50 to 60 percent of the human diet? Maybe a technology like that could feed people while reducing the environmental impact of agriculture.

The future for this food is stark-
If its bite is worse than its bark.
