Forget Cicero’s Orations And Caesars Commentaries, ‘Wimpy Kid’ Is New Latin classic

The Wall Street Journal – August 12, 2015

Vatican official Daniel Gallagher is tasked with promoting Latin, the language of the classics whose usage has been falling for centuries … But now, he has stepped up his game by translating his first work of fiction: the popular children’s book “Diary of a Wimpy Kid” which tells the story of the boy’s misadventures in middle school … More than 150 million copies are in print globally.

My Latin is lousy, an absolute flop.
Yet, I think “CAVEAT EMPTOR” when I shop.
