Same Package, Same Price, Less Product

When spice maker McCormick & Co. started shipping 25% less pepper earlier this year in the same package at about the same price, it was engaged in an age – old means of getting frugal consumers to pay more for less… The regulatory term of art for putting less in the package that meets the eye is “nonfunctional slack fill.”

While ” less is more,” in art we may bless,
When packaging products, “less IS less.”
